TB Awareness & Nutrition Support Programme in Daund, Pune Rural
“TB Will Be Defeated, India Will Win!”
As part of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, a TB Awareness,
Screening and Nutrition Support Programme was organized in Daund Taluka, Pune Rural, to promote awareness about TB, encourage early diagnosis and support patients during their treatment journey.
Creating Awareness Through a Rally
A special TB Awareness Rally was conducted by enthusiastic children from Classes 1st to 4th in the surrounding village areas. The young participants actively spread awareness about tuberculosis and encouraged the community to join the movement towards a TB-free India.
The rally echoed with the powerful slogan:
“TB हरेगा, भारत जीतेगा!”
The participation of young children made the awareness campaign engaging and impactful, demonstrating that every generation can contribute towards the fight against TB.
Nutrition Support for TB Beneficiaries
As part of the initiative, nutrition food baskets were distributed to TB beneficiaries, providing essential nutritional support during their treatment journey.
A meaningful highlight was the experience shared by relatives of TB patients who received nutrition support. Their experiences reflected the challenges families face during TB treatment and highlighted how nutritional assistance and community support can provide encouragement and relief to patients and their families.
Olympia Trust – Supporting the Fight Against TB
Olympia Trust, along with Niramay Super Speciality Hospital & Cancer Care Center and Cipla Medicine Company, played a key supporting role in the initiative by contributing towards nutrition support for TB beneficiaries and strengthening community-based efforts for TB awareness and care.
Through its continued commitment to health and community welfare, Olympia Trust aims to support vulnerable communities and contribute to the national goal of a TB-Free India.
Collaborative Community Effort
The programme was conducted with the guidance and coordination of Dr. Vikas Wadgaye, DTO, DTC Pune Rural; Dr. Jayant Kalkute, MO, DTC Pune Rural; Dr. Anjali Gaikwad; Ashish Shete, Pune District My Bharat Head; My Bharat Volunteers; and NCC Cadets.
The active participation of healthcare professionals, young students, volunteers and community members and Olympia Team Swapnil Pol, CSR Executive and Neelam Desai, Administrator-Projects | CSR demonstrated the power of collective action in creating awareness and supporting TB patients.
